Humane Society Of Sandusky County

location_on 1315 N. River Rd.

The Humane Society was founded in 1986 by a group of local residents concerned about animal neglect and abuse. Prior to that year there had not been a Humane Society in Sandusky County since the 1950's era. From 1986 through 2000 there was a local office in the Red Cross building and a Humane Officer. The volunteers and members took dogs and cats into their homes and did pet adoptions at Paw Patch in Clyde, and the former Fremont Tractor Supply.
